Founded in 2024 by Julie Waters and Evan Dyal, Watermark Media is dedicated to bridging the divide between independent and commercial cinema, producing genuine narratives from emerging filmmakers.

We hold the belief that authenticity, rather than a broad appeal, is essential for both commercial success and critical acclaim. By operating outside the conventional studio framework, we’re able to create content that stays true to cherished genres and themes while infusing them with the fresh perspectives and new voices that resonate with audiences.

Watermark has produced and co-financed five films, including Sophie Brooks’ OH, HI! and Joel Alfonso Vargas’ MAD BILLS TO PAY, both of which had their World Premieres at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. "Oh, Hi!" was sold for worldwide distribution to Sony Pictures Classics.
